It is for use with Mac OS X v.10.1.5, v.10.2.x, v.10.3 and OS X v.10.4, although HP recommends that you update to the latest version of Mac OS X. The downloadable file includes a driver installer, which also installs the newest deskjet printer utility.
This driver improves printer connection reliability and stability, as well as print speed and print output improvements. It is recommended that you delete the existing printer (print queue) from the Print Center prior to installing this driver. It is also recommended that you quit open applications before installing this driver.
Mount the disk image by double clicking on it.
Launch the "OS X HP Inkjet Installer" program, and follow the on-screen instructions

Caution: The printer's USB cable must be unplugged before proceeding!
Installation instructions:

Create a new folder on the hard drive: c:\dj825 before downloading the printer driver.
Download the driver to the newly created c:\dj825 folder.
Open the c:\dj825 folder and double-click on the downloaded "exe" file. Once the files are loaded and the "hp deskjet 825c" screen displays, proceed to step 9. If this screen does not display, continue with the next step to manually open the screen.
Double-click on the c:\dj825\Win_2k folder to open the 3 letter language folder. For example, the English driver will display an "enu" folder.
Double-click on the "enu" folder to open it.
Double-click on the "nt4" folder to open it.
Double-click on the "disk1" folder to open it.
Double-click on the "setup.exe" file to start the installation program.
Click the "Install printer software" icon button. Files will now be loaded.
Follow the instructions on the installer screens to complete the installation.

This driver is designed for use on computers that will be directly connected to the printer from the computer's USB port with a USB cable. Please note this driver has no "Program Group" functionality.
Installation instructions:
1. Create a new folder on the hard drive: c:\dj825 before downloading the printer driver.
2. Download the driver to the newly created c:\dj825 folder.
3. Open the c:\dj825 folder and double-click the downloaded "exe" file.
4. Under c:\dj825\2kinf folder a 3 letter language folder will be displayed. For example, the English driver will display a folder named "enu". This folder was created by double-clicking on the downloaded "exe" file.
5. Plug the USB cable into the printer and PC.
6. A Hardware Wizard screen appears, click "Cancel".
7. From Windows, click "Start", "Settings", "Printers".
8. Next, double-click "Add Printer".
9. When the Add Printer Wizard screen appears, click "Next".
10. Choose "Local Printer", uncheck "Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer", and click "Next".
11. Select "USB" and click "Next".
12. To continue, click the "Have Disk" button.
13. Next, click "Browse" and go to the folder "c:\dj825\2kinf\enu\drivers\Win_2k". An "hpf825k.inf" file will be displayed. Select the file name and click "Open".
14. Click "OK" to continue. "hp deskjet 825c series" will now be found in the Printers column. Now, click the "Next" button.
15. If another printer driver is installed on the PC, select "Yes" or "No" to use this printer as the default printer and click "Next".
16. Choose "Do not share this printer" and click "Next".
17. Select "Yes" or "No" to print a test page and click "Next". To complete the installation process, click "Finish". The hp deskjet 825c series printer driver will be added to the "Printers" window.

Installation Instructions: USB Connection
1. Download the x64Drv5.64.0.17.exe file.
2. Once downloaded, choose Open or just run the x64Drv5.64.0.17.exe.
3. Follow onscreen instructions listed below.
Note: There may be a long pause between each of the steps below.
4. Choose Direct Connect.
5. Power on the printer, and connect it to the computer when prompted.
6. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" will be displayed.
7. Select No, not this time.
8. Select Install the software automatically (Recommended).
9. Depending on your product, you might see one or more Windows' warning screens.
10. Click Continue anyway or Yes each time these Windows warning screens appear.
11. Click Finish.
12. Reboot your computer (Highly Recommended).

Uninstall Instructions: USB Connection
1. Click Start.
2. Click Control Panel.
3. Double Click Add or Remove Programs.
4. Select Beta Printer Drivers for Windows XP x64 (5.64.0.17).
5. Click Remove.
6. Reboot your computer (Highly Recommended).

Installation Instructions: Network (Wired and Wireless)

Checklist for Wired Network Setup:
1. Turn the printer on.
2. Ensure the printer is connected to the network.

Checklist for Wireless Network Setup:
1. Turn the printer on.
2. Ensure the "Wireless" is turned on for the printer. (Typically signified by Blue Light on printer.)
3. Write down the wireless setting for your network. They are stored in the access point (the box with antennas).
4. To get to the access point:
a. Press the Windows key and the R key. Type CMD and press ENTER.
b. Type IPCONFIG and press ENTER.
c. Write down the IP address that appears in the line that says "Default Gateway". Example "192.162.0.1"
d. Press the Windows key and the R key. Type http:// and press ENTER . Example http://192.168.0.1. That will take you to the access point web server. Check your access point manual for more instructions.
e. You need to find the following settings.
i. SSID or Network name
ii. Encryption (None or disabled, WEP or WPA)
iii. Key or paraphrase

f. If you cannot find these settings, contact the manufacturer of your access point for help.
5. If your printer has an LCD display, press Setup, go to the network menu and select the wireless configuration option (usually called Wireless Setup Wizard) and follow instructions.

Note: If the printer cannot connect to your wireless network:
1. Ensure MAC address control/filter includes new printer's MAC addresses OR MAC address control/filter is turned "Off".
2. Ensure SID broadcasting is temporary enabled for easier setup.
3. Follow your setup instructions that came with your printer for more information on configuring your wireless printer.
