The HP DeskJet 890 Printer Software v11.1 supports the following printers for use in the Windows 3.1 & Windows 95 environments only: HP DeskJet 890C, HP DeskJet 890Cxi, and HP DeskJet 890Cse. Installation Instructions: HP DeskJet 890 Series Printer Driver for Windows 3.1 & Windows 95. These floppy disks contain your HP DeskJet 890 series printer driver software for Windows 3.1x and Windows 95. To install the printer driver software from your disks: 1.) First, you MUST uninstall any previous HP printer drivers for this printer. Uninstallation Instructions for Windows 3.1x: Restart Windows. Run the uninstaller program. The uninstaller program resides in the Windows directory on the OS drive (usually C:\windows). It may be run from there by going to that directory and double-clicking on the file called hprulg06.exe. Follow the instructions on the screen. Restart Windows. Uninstallation Instructions for Windows 95: Restart your system. Run the uninstaller program. The uninstaller program resides in the hpr06 directory on the OS drive (usually C:\hpr06). It may be run from there by going to that directory and double-clicking on the 890 Uninstaller icon. Restart your system. 2.) Now install your new printer driver. Insert disk 1 into the floppy drive. For Windows 3.1x: From the Program Manager, open the File Manager and select RUN. For Windows 95: From the START menu, select RUN. For both Windows 3.1x and 95: In the command line box, type the letter for your floppy drive followed by :\SETUP (for example, A:\SETUP). Click OK and follow the instructions on your screen. Technical support is also available at www.deskjet-support.com. The driver files will self extract and expand into 4 sub-directories: Disk 1, Disk 2, Disk 3, Disk 4 by double-clicking on the Driver .EXE file.
