Installation Instructions
HP recommends you uninstall any previous version of your HP All-in-One software before proceeding.
Uninstall Previous Software
To uninstall your current HP All-in-One software, double-click the HP Uninstaller application located in your Hewlett-Packard folder, which is in your Applications folder. Do not remove Memories Disc or Readiris when you are selecting the components to uninstall.
Installation
Double-click on the hp all-in-one installer icon to install the HP All-in-One software.
Be sure to complete all screens in the HP All-in-One Setup Assistant.
For Mac OS X 10.1.x Users only
Your print or fax queue is configured automatically after setup. If you would like to configure a queue manually in the future follow the steps as mentioned for Mac OS X 10.2
For Mac OS X 10.2 and 10.3 Users only
Launch Print Center (or Printer Setup Utility) from the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
ClickAdd Printer.
Select a connection method from the pop-up menu. Your device will be listed under one of the following: HP AiO Print, USB, Rendezvous, HP IP Printing. To print to fax, select HP AiO Fax from the pop-up.
Select your device in the browser list and click Add. Your device is added to the Print Center's printer list, with the suffix "(Print)" or "(Fax)".
Quit Print Center.
To change printers in the future, you may either do so directly in an application's print dialog box or change the default for all future print jobs using Print Center.
Adding New Users (Mac OS X)
After creating a new user account in Mac OS X, the new user must run before using the HP All-in-One device. The HP All-in-One Setup Assistantis located on your hard drive at /Applications/Hewlett-Packard/HP Photo and Imaging Software/HP AiO Software/HP All-in-One Setup Assistant
Classic Installation Notes (Mac OS X)
The installer installs the Classic drivers and Chooser extensions in the Classic environment if the installer is run in OS X. To access the Classic feature of the HP All-in-One software, you need not have to install another copy of the software on Mac OS 9.
Note: Mac OS X: Driver Download Has Decoding Failure Using Safari
When downloading an HP All-in-One Driver using Safari (version 1.2), the downloading completes but displays a decoding error in the download manager.
SOLUTION:
Open Safari.
Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
Click the General icon in the toolbar.
Uncheck Open "safe" files after downloading.
Re-download driver.
It is advisable to re-open the Preferences and recheck Open "safe" files after downloading after re-downloading driver.

Description: This installer will update the print driver to the latest version. If you have previously installed software for your hp all-in-one device, this installer will only update the print driver, although the software for scanning, faxing, and copying will be unaffected.

NOTE: Mac OS 10.4 already provides support for this software version therefore you do not need to download this update if you have Mac OS 10.4
This print driver updates the print driver for Mac OS X only. To update the printer driver for Mac OS 9 or for the Classic environment, install this print driver under Mac OS 9.

Description: This all-in-one web driver includes all of the same Windows software as the in-box CD with the following components removed to reduce download time: Memories Disk, Product Tour, and Share-to-Web.
Instructions for Installation
Download the web package to your desktop.
If you have already installed the software for this device and you are either upgrading or re-installing you will need to disconnect the USB cable from your all-in-one, turn the device off, and then uninstall the software. The previous installation can be removed by running the Uninstall Software program via the START\Programs\Hewlett-Packard menu or via Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel. Please reboot your PC when prompted.
After uninstalling the previous software double click the web package and follow the on screen instructions. Do not plug in the USB cable until you reach the Setup Your Device Now screen. After you plug in the USB cable press the ON button on the front panel to turn your all-in-one on.
After the HP Product Registration window appears you will need to reboot the PC and then delete the web package from your desktop and the temp files located in c:\temp\HP All-in-One Series Web Release.

Description: If you receive an "Access is denied" error message while installing your HP software, download and run the utility on this page. This utility will resolve the issue for 90% of users.

Installation instructions:

Description: The HP Printing Diagnostic Utility is created to diagnose and fix many common issues preventing printing from the computer.
Enhancements: The HP Printing Diagnostic Utility is created to diagnose and fix many common issues preventing printing from the computer. It works for many HP printing devices. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the utility. Examples of issues this utility will address:

• Connection Issue: The utility will check that the selected printer is connected and powered.

• Spooler Service Issue: The utility will check that the print spooler service is running and restart the service, if necessary.

• Purge Spooler Issue: The utility will check if the print queue is empty and will clear it, if necessary.

• Printer Status Issue: The utility will check if the print status is offline or paused and will change the status to online or resume, if necessary.

• Device Manager Issue: The utility will check for cautioned entries in the device manager. In order to fix the issue, the utility will force a plu and play re-scan of the device manager.

• Printer Port Issue: The utility will check whether the selected printer is configured to use a DOT4 port or the USB00X Port and assign the correct printer port, if necessary.

• Driver Handler Issue: The utility will check whether the correct printer driver is installed for the selected printer and assign the correct printer driver, if necessary. If the issue continues, turn your printer on and off, disconnect and reconnect the printer cable from the computer and the printer, and restart the computer. Warming-up - Under certain circumstances when the all-in-one will display "warming up" indefinitely after pressing one of the "Copy" or "Scan" buttons.
Printing Issues - After installing print cartridges, some all-in-one's may reject one or both print cartridges or require up to five minutes to complete printing of an alignment page.
Reserve Mode Printing - Previous versions of firmware may have disabled the Reserve Mode Printing capability of the HP all-in-one. This patch will re-enable the Reserve Mode Printing capability of the HP all-in-one.
After downloading and installing this firmware update, the software will determine if the hp all-in-one would benefit from this firmware update and inform you of the results.
Installation Instructions
Download the file "HpAiOFWUpdate2_2.exe" to a local hard drive. Make note where (in which folder) the file gets copied.
The hp all-in-one software for the PSC 2100 series must be installed on your PC before installing this firmware update. The PSC 2100 series must also be connected to your PC and turned on before proceeding.
Locate the file "HpAiOFWUpdate2_2.exe" on your hard drive and double-click the file to run the firmware update.

Installation instructions:
Click the Download button.
When prompted, choose Open to start the download and run the installer.

Adding Office 2003 applications to your scanning destinations:
Install Office 2003.
Open the HP Director.
Be sure your device is listed at the top of the HP Director.
Click Settings, click Scan Settings & Preferences, and then click Scan to...Setup.
Select an Office 2003 application from the Available Scan Desinations and click Add. The application name will display in the Front Panel Destinations list.
Click OK.
To test, press the Scan button on the front panel of your HP all-in-one device. Scroll through the Scan menu and verify the application name appears in the display.
