Description: This all-in-one web driver includes all of the same Windows software as the in-box CD with the following components removed to reduce download time: Memories Disk, Product Tour, and Share-to-Web.
Instructions for Installation
Download the web package to your desktop.
If you have already installed the software for this device and you are either upgrading or re-installing you will need to disconnect the USB cable from your all-in-one, turn the device off, and then uninstall the software. The previous installation can be removed by running the Uninstall Software program via the START\Programs\Hewlett-Packard menu or via Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel. Please reboot your PC when prompted.
After uninstalling the previous software double click the web package and follow the on screen instructions. Do not plug in the USB cable until you reach the Setup Your Device Now screen. After you plug in the USB cable press the ON button on the front panel to turn your all-in-one on.
After the HP Product Registration window appears you will need to reboot the PC and then delete the web package from your desktop and the temp files located in c:\temp\HP All-in-One Series Web Release.

In the Save As dialog box, select a folder to download the file to and then select [save].
Once the file is downloaded, browse to the location of the file and double-click on it. The software will decompress and then install automatically.

Description: The HP Printing Diagnostic Utility is created to diagnose and fix many common issues preventing printing from the computer.
Enhancements: The HP Printing Diagnostic Utility is created to diagnose and fix many common issues preventing printing from the computer. It works for many HP printing devices. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the utility. Examples of issues this utility will address:

• Connection Issue: The utility will check that the selected printer is connected and powered.

• Spooler Service Issue: The utility will check that the print spooler service is running and restart the service, if necessary.

• Purge Spooler Issue: The utility will check if the print queue is empty and will clear it, if necessary.

• Printer Status Issue: The utility will check if the print status is offline or paused and will change the status to online or resume, if necessary.

• Device Manager Issue: The utility will check for cautioned entries in the device manager. In order to fix the issue, the utility will force a plu and play re-scan of the device manager.

• Printer Port Issue: The utility will check whether the selected printer is configured to use a DOT4 port or the USB00X Port and assign the correct printer port, if necessary.

• Driver Handler Issue: The utility will check whether the correct printer driver is installed for the selected printer and assign the correct printer driver, if necessary. If the issue continues, turn your printer on and off, disconnect and reconnect the printer cable from the computer and the printer, and restart the computer. After the computer has restarted, please cancel any pending print jobs, if prompted.

Description: While scanning, a "TWAIN Data Source Redirector" error message as shown in Figure 1, appears. This error message will occur if a previous HP all-in-one was installed and then deleted before installing a new HP all-in-one. Files left in the TWAIN_32 folder after the previous all-in-one is uninstalled cause this problem.

Correcting the problem
HP has created an executable program that will automatically remove the necessary files. Do the following to download and run the executable:
Visit the HP AiO Twain Redirector Tool Web page and click Download now to download the AiO_twainredirector_removal.exe file.
A File Download dialog box will appear. Click Save.
A dialog box will appear requesting the destination to save the file in. Use the Save In pull down menu to select Desktop (or specify another file destination), and then click Save.
After the patch downloads, either click Open on the Download Complete message or close the download screen and double-click the AiO_twainredirector_removal.exe file on the Windows Desktop (or specified file location). The file will automatically remove the necessary entries.
Restart the computer.

Install Instructions
Download the file, Hpqimageviewer.exe to a local drive. Make note where (in which folder) the file gets copied.
Restart the computer. (The InstallShield software used for the patch will not start if the hpoevm08.exe process is hung. This step is not necessary if you are certain that the hp image viewer has not been opened since the last time the computer was restarted or turned on.
Temporarily disable any antivirus software.
Exit any running applications, games, utilities, and multimedia applications.
In Windows Explorer (or by some equivalent means) go to the folder where Hpqimageviewer.exe was copied; run the program.
Double-click on the hpqimageviewerupdate.exe patch file to start it.
Follow the instruction dialogs that appear to install the update.
A restart is not necessary after the patch is installed.

Description: This update resolves a problem which causes an internal error when trying to save a multi-page scan to the PDF file format.
The problem may only happen intermittently and may depend on the total number and type of pages scanned.

Installation instructions:
Click the Download button.
When prompted, choose Open to start the download and run the installer.

Adding Office 2003 applications to your scanning destinations:
Install Office 2003.
Open the HP Director.
Be sure your device is listed at the top of the HP Director.
Click Settings, click Scan Settings & Preferences, and then click Scan to...Setup.
Select an Office 2003 application from the Available Scan Desinations and click Add. The application name will display in the Front Panel Destinations list.
Click OK.
To test, press the Scan button on the front panel of your HP all-in-one device. Scroll through the Scan menu and verify the application name appears in the display.

Download the file, hpqaol08.exe to a local drive. Make note where (in which folder) the file gets copied.
Using Windows Explorer (or by some equivalent means) go to the folder where hpqaol08.exe was copied, right click on "hpqaol08.exe" and select "copy".
Browse to the location of the old installed hpqaol08.exe file. The default is:
C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin
Right-click on this "\bin" folder and select "Paste".
When the "Confirm File Replace" dialog appears, confirm that the replacement file is newer then the one about to be replaced and select the [yes] button.
The Manual installation is now complete.

Description: These all-in-one product firmware updates will resolve issues with receiving faxes, warming-up, certain printing and USB Boot-up issues with the HP PSC 2200 series products.
For detailed information see descriptions below:
Receiving Faxes - The all-in-one may not detect incoming faxes accurately. Also, the hp all-in-one may falsely detect a voice conversation as an incoming fax.

Warming-up - Under certain circumstances when the all-in-one will display "warming up" indefinitely after pressing one of the "Copy" or "Scan" buttons.
Printing Issues - After installing print cartridges, some all-in-one's may reject one or both print cartridges or require up to five minutes to complete printing of an alignment page.

USB Boot-up After installing the HP all-in-one software, the computer stops responding during start up when the all-in-one is connected and turned on. The computer will start correctly if the HP all-in-one is not connected or is turned off.

Reserve Mode Printing - Previous versions of firmware may have disabled the Reserve Mode Printing capability of the HP all-in-one. This patch will re-enable the Reserve Mode Printing capability of the HP all-in-one.

After downloading and installing this firmware update, the software will determine if the hp all-in-one would benefit from this firmware update and inform you of the results.

Download the file "HpAiOFWUpdate2_2.exe" to a local hard drive. Make note where (in which folder) the file gets copied.
The hp all-in-one software for the PSC 2200 series must be installed on your PC before installing this firmware update. The PSC 2200 series must also be connected to your PC and turned on before proceeding.
Locate the file "HpAiOFWUpdate2_2.exe" on your hard drive and double-click the file to install the firmware update.
