Firmware Version detection tool for MS Windows. IDE drive firmware detection tool. Run this to find out the current firmware version of your IDE drives ( CDROM / DVDROM / CDREWRITER ). Works in MS Windows.

1. Executive the Flash Program on Win98/Me/2000/XP directly.
Attention !! .. This program can’t work under Win95 / NT !!
2. Select the drive you want to upgrade, please refer to the Fig.1
3. Click “ Flash the drive ! “, please refer to the Fig.1
4. Then you would see the following windows, please click “ OK “
5. Flash Program would check the drive and show “ Please don’t turn off the power. Upgrading firmware… “
6. After upgrading, you would see the following window, it means that your drive already perform the firmware-upgrading job.
7. The last message would show “ === SUCCEED === “, please click “ Exit “ button to exit the program.

Introduction
1. Power off and remove casing
Turn off the power and remove Power plug from your
computer.
Then remove your computer’s housing or casing.
2. Confirm Jumper Setting
Decide which convex part you want to use and adjust the
jumper. We suggest using priority (1)(2)(3).
3. Settle the CD-RW drive
Insert the CD-RW drive, and connect three cables: IDE
(Please make sure that colored stripe of IDE cable lines up
with PIN-1 of each connector), power, and audio.
Bolt on the CD-RW drive and housing.
4. Power on and Check reorganization
Plug in power cord, and turn on your computer.
Then check that your computer recognizes the drive.

5. Install CD writing software
Insert the software disc to CD-ROM or CD-RW, and wait for
installation interface to appear automatically.
Follow the installation wizard to install CD writing software.
Please install Acrobat Reader to read FAQ & Manual and
software guideline.
Reading the guidelines and understanding the software more
will enable you to make your own audio or data CD’s more
easily.
Notice: Do not install two different brand’s CD writing
software simultaneously in your computer. For example:
Nero-Burning Rom and EasyCD Creator.

Q: Computer won’t boot up after installation.
Please follow these procedures to get your computer back to
work:

Turn off and unplug your computer first. Check each
connector along both IDE cables. If there are any bent
pins, straighten them. The Correct connection is that all
pins should be fully covered and the colored stripe and
the IDE cable lines up with PIN-1 of each connector.

Check if the power cable is attached correctly to each
drive.

If an IDE cable is connected with CD-ReWriter and other
device, check the jumper settings of both devices and
make sure the “MA” (master) and “SL” (slave) settings are
different from each other.

To install the CD-ROM device driver, the syntax in CONFIG.SYS
is as follows:

DEVICE=VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:MSCD001 [/P:xxx,yy] [/L:xx]

where [/P:xxx,yy]
specifies the IDE port which is connected to the drive and the
interrupt request.

'xxx' is the base address (hexadecimal notation) of IDE port.
xxx = 1f0 : Port 1
170 : Port 2
1e8 : Port 3
168 : Port 4

'yy' is the interrupt number (decimal notation) of the
corresponding IDE port.

[/L:xx]
specifies the message language. Available options are listed
as below:

xx = US : English (the default language)
GR : German
FR : French
SP : Spanish
IT : Italian
JP : Japanese

For example, when eight drives are installed, the command
line in the CONFIG.SYS file could be entered as follows:

DEVICE=VIDE-CDD.SYS /D:MSCD001 /P:1f0,14 /P:170,15 /P:1e8,12 /P:168,10

NOTE:

Our device driver will automatically search the drives for 4 ports
up to 8 drives, and the ports are 0x1f0, 0x170, 0x1e8 and 0x168 with
interrupt number 14, 15, 12 and 10 as default, respectively. If your
IDE ports and their respective interrupt numbers are the same as
those mentioned above, you don't have to specify them verbosely.

5. Instalación del software de grabación de CD
Inserte el disco del software en la unidad de CD-ROM o de

Instale Acrobat Reader para leer la sección de Preguntas

P: El ordenador no se inicia después de la instalación.
Realice los siguientes pasos para conseguir que el
ordenador vuelva a funcionar:

En primer lugar, apague y desconecte el ordenador.
Compruebe los conectores de los dos cables IDE. En
caso de que haya patillas dobladas, enderécelas. La
conexión correcta es aquella que tiene todas las patillas
totalmente cubiertas y las bandas coloreadas del cable
IDE están alineadas con la patilla 1 de cada conector

Compruebe que el cable de alimentación está conectado
correctamente a cada unidad.

En caso de que un cable IDE esté conectado a una
regrabadora de CD u otro dispositivo, compruebe la
configuración del puente de ambos dispositivos y
asegúrese de que las configuraciones "MA" (master) y
"SL" (slave) son diferentes.
