This release supports the following hardware:
CMD IDE 0648 for WHQL
1.Installation
Follow the Microsoft driver update procedures.
2.New Features and Enhancement
Enhancement: Changed algorithm for setting the correct value for task file timing register.
3.Corrections
Symptom: Connect Richo CD-R/RW (model RW7060A) to the secondary channel master and any hard disk as secondary slave, after system boot up, driver can not see the hard disk.
Action: This problem has been fixed.
Symptom: Timing issue for 649 Rev. 2 – On some older motherboards, system hangs during boot.
Action: Before sending any command to devices, set chip mode to PIO 0 (during boot time and after software reset). Also change recovery count to 3 for PIO mode 0, 1, and 2 if controller chip is 649 Rev. 2.
