Canon CanoScan D660U Download Treibers

Installing ScanGear CS-U 5.8.1 from a Download in
Windows Millennium (Me)

1. Be sure the scanner is connected, the computer is turned on, and that no other applications are running.

2. Windows will display a "New Hardware Found" dialog box, followed by "Add New Hardware Wizard."

3. From "Add New Hardware Wizard", select the radio button, "Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)".
Then click the Next button.

4. On the next "Add New Hardware Wizard" screen, select the first radio button,
"Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)."
Then be sure that only "Specify a location:" is checked.

5. In the command line below "Specify a location:", type "C:\canonscanner\d660u" and then click the Next button.

6. The next screen will indicate that the driver has been found. Click the Next button to proceed with the driver installation.

7. Click Finish to complete the driver installation.
Installing ScanGear CS-U 5.8.1 from a Download in Windows 2000

1. Be sure the scanner is connected, the computer is turned on, and that no other applications are running.

2. Windows will display a "Found New Hardware" dialog box, followed by a "Found New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.

3. From "Found New Hardware Wizard," click the Next button to continue with the CanoScan driver installation process.

4. On the next "Found New Hardware Wizard" screen, select the first radio button, "Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended)". Then click the Next button.

5. Another "Found New Hardware Wizard" screen will list locations where it can search for
the new driver. Please be sure that only "Specify a location" is checked. Click the Next
button.

6. On the next "Found New Hardware Wizard" screen, type C:\canonscanner\d660u and click
the OK button.

7. The next screen will indicate that the driver has been found. Click the Next button.

Note: After clicking the Next button at the end of step 7, it may take a couple of minutes before prompting you with next window.

8. Click the Finish button to complete the driver installation.

Installing ScanGear CS-U 5.8.1 from a Download in Windows 98
1. Be sure the scanner is connected, the computer is turned on, and that no other applications are running.

2. Windows will display a "New Hardware Found" dialog box, followed by an "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box.

3. From "Add New Hardware Wizard," click the Next button to begin the CanoScan driver installation process.

4. On the next "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box, select the first radio button, "Search for the best driver for your device. (Recommended)." Click the Next button.

5. Another "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box will list locations where it can search for the new driver. Please be sure that only "Specify a location" is checked. Type "C:\canonscanner\d660u" and then click the Next button.

6. The next screen will indicate that the driver has been found. Click the Next button.

Important:
If you have installed an upgrade version of Windows 98, it may display a dialog box titled "Insert Disk." Insert your Windows 98 Upgrade CD-ROM and click OK.

7. Click the Finish button to complete the driver installation. If the Windows 98 Upgrade CD-ROM was inserted, remove it at this time.
