Connect Scanner Canon CanoScan FB630U to PC

If "Add New Hardware Wizard" appears

1/ Choose "Search For Driver" then click NEXT

2/ Deselect all boxes EXCEPT "Specify Location" which should remain checked.

3/ In the box below "Specify Location" type: "c:\canonscanner\fb630uw2k" and click NEXT to complete the installation process.
If "Add New Hardware Wizard" does NOT appear

1/ Click Start, Settings, Control Panel.

2/ Double Click SYSTEM, then click DEVICE MANAGER

3/ Locate a reference to your Scanner under "Other Devices or Imaging Devices.

4/ Double click this reference to the scanner, then click "Update Driver" or "Reinstall driver"

5/ Choose "Search For Driver" then click NEXT

6/ Deselect all boxes EXCEPT "Specify Location" which should remain checked.

7/ In the box below "Specify Location" type: "c:\canonscanner\fb630uw2k" and click NEXT to complete the installation process.

1. ScanGear CS-U 5.3.2 Features

ScanGear CS-U 5.3.2 (hereafter referred to as "ScanGear CS") is a
32-bit TWAIN-compliant scanner driver for the Canon CanoScan
FB630U or FB636U scanners. When this driver is selected from
within a TWAIN-compliant software application program running
under Windows, either the FB630U or FB636U can be used to scan
image data.

2. What You Need

Required Hardware

o CanoScan FB630U or FB636U Scanner.
o USB port, Universal Serial Bus Specification Version 1.1 compliant
o 80486 CPU or higher (Pentium 60 MHz or higher recommended) IBM
or IBM compatible PC
o 32 MB RAM (more recommended)
o 5 MB of free disk space for ScanGear CS installation.
o Free disk space, at least 50 MB. The amount of space required
depends on the scanning area and the Scan Mode or Resolution
setting. (Color images scanned at higher resolution require
more storage space.)
o CD-ROM drive
o Minimum requirement for monitor: 800 x 600 resolution, 256-
color (higher resolution with TrueColor recommended)

Required Software

o Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows 2000
o TWAIN-compliant application software

3. A General Tip on Usage Canon CanoScan FB630U

o Run only one application at a time which uses ScanGear CS; do
not open more than one application that uses the ScanGear CS
scanner driver. Also, do not open ScanGear CS more than once
to acquire an image in the same application.

o If you scan a very large image at high resolution, some
applications may determine that there is not enough disk space
to scan and save the image and return an error.
