Uninstallation Guide

Step 1
1. Double click Network Explorer on your desktop screen.
2. Find the DNS-343 device where you want to uninstall the PnP-X
driver.
3. Select it and right click your mouse button.
4. Select Uninstall.

Step 2
1. Double click My Computer.
2. Find all of the virtual folders that marked DNS343-Volume_X(xx. xx.
xx. xx).
3. Select it and right click your mouse button.
4. Select Delete.

Step 3
1. Click the Start menu, and then the Run button and enter REGEDIT
in the dialog box.
2. Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/ NetworkExplorerPlugins.
3. Find the urn:www-dlink-com:device: NAS-DNS343:1 folder.
4. Select it and right click your mouse button.
5. Select Delete.

Step 4
1. Double click on My Computer.
2. Go to C:\Windows\System32\.
3. Find the nascoins.dll file.(? if your CPU is 64 bit, that you need to
find dns343nascoinsAmd64.dll)
4. Select it and right click your mouse button.
5. Select Delete.

Step 5
1. Find your C:\Windows\inf directory.
2. Select it and right click your mouse button.
3. Select Search.

Step 6
1. After Step 5 is finished, a search utility will pop up.
2. Enter dns343 in the search prompt.
3. If you recieve a No items match your search message, then click
on Search in File Contents.

Step 7
The search result will be searched oem#.

Step 8
1. Go to your C:\Windows\inf directory.
2. Delete oem#.inf and oem#.PNF.

System Requirements
• 1GHz Processor / 512MB RAM
• 200MB available space
• CD-ROM drive
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or Mozilla Firefox 1.0 and above
• Windows® XP (Service Pack 2) or Vista™

Note: The DNS-343 requires installation of a hard drive before it can be used.
The hard disk must be a 3.5” SATA Hard Drive of any capacity.

Hardware Installation
1. Access the drive bays by sliding the
faceplate up until it unlatches from
the device.
2. Once the faceplate is unlatched, pull
it off of the device, exposing the drive
bays.
3. Insert a 3.5” SATA hard drive into an
available drive bay. Make sure to align
the drive connector to the endpoint in
the DNS-343. Gently push the drive
in until it connects. Repeat for each
drive you are placing in the DNS-
343.
4. Attach the faceplate to the front of
the device.
5. Connect an Ethernet cable into
the available Ethernet port.
This cable should connect the
DNS-343 to your local network
or directly to a computer for
configuration.
6. Finally, connect the supplied power
adapter to the power receptacle on
the back of the device.
