This readme file explains how to calibrate your FARGO PrimeraPro printer with the Corel 5.0 Color Management System. If you have any specific questions on the calibration of your system after reading this file, please refer to Corel technical support at 1-900-896-8880 or 1-800-818-1848.
To begin calibrating your system, you must first go through the calibration process with your scanner. After this is complete, you may then calibrate your monitor. If your monitor profile is not listed in the Corel 5.0 color management system, refer to your Corel manual for instructions on performing the calibration. After these two peripherals have been calibrated, you may go through the calibration process of your FARGO PrimeraPro color printer.
To begin, you must copy the *.rhn and *.gry files from this driver diskette to the Corel50\Color directory.
In Corel 5.0, go under file and select the Color Manager. For printer, scroll down the list to Other. Type in PrimeraProPR for the name of the printer and switch the printer type to RGB.
The printer calibration screen will ask for an RGB file. Click the down arrow and select propr.gry. Click on colormatch.
The printer characterization screen asks for a file name. Click the down arrow and select propr.rhn. Click on OK. Click OK again.
At this point you should have your scanner, monitor and printer listed on the screen. Click on Generate. For the file name type propr.ccs, click OK. Corel 5.0 is now generating a color profile for your system!
The process you have just gone through is for the Photorealistic profile. To create the thermal wax profile, follow the same procedure but call the printer PrimeraProTW. The files you will be using are protw.gry, protw.rhn, and protw.ccs.
