Installation
------------------------------

After you have downloaded the tarballs extract them in any directory

# tar xvfz pcsc-lite-1..tar.gz

This would create one source directory called pcsc-lite-1.0.1 (for PCSC).

To install PCSC Lite:
---------------------

Change to the source dir of PCSC

# cd pcsc-lite-1.0.1

and simply type 'make' and 'make install'
For further information (about the Makefile, ...) see the README file
contained in this directory

This will install PCSC Lite in /usr/local/pcsc by default and place a
configuration file (reader.conf) in your /etc directory.
This file has not to be adapted for USB readers since there is a hotplug mechansim implemented in PC/SC.

For further instructions see PC/SC LITE readme files.

To install the driver

Cherry "Geldkarte Value Checker"
Application to readout the "Geldkarte" (german cash card).
NOTE!
This application requires a already installed PC/SC Smartcard Reader Device.
So please install first the PC/SC Smartcard Drivers available for your Cherry SmartcardKeyboard

SmartBoard USB CT-Api Requirements

BEFORE YOU CAN USE THIS CT-API, THE APPROPRIATE PC/SC DRIVER FOR
YOUR CARDMAN MUST HAVE BEEN INSTALLED !

Name of CT-API
------------------------------------------
The name of the CT-API DLL is ctdeutin.dll. It will be installed by the
setup program.

Help file
------------------------------------------
In the directory of this setup program you can find a Windows
help file which contains detailed information about this CT-API.
Currently it is only available in English.

Tools:
------------------------------------------
1) ctpnscan.exe
This tool displays the CT-API port of the connected CardMan. Some
applications require this information for reader configuration.

2)KVKTool.exe
This tool displays all information which is stored on a German KV-card.

This document describes the release notes of the CardMan 2020/6020 PC/SC Driver

I. Installation
***************
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0:
-------------------------
To install the CardMan 2020/6020 PC/SC Interface Device Handler run 'setup.exe'
on disk1 and follow the instructions in the setup program.
Make sure that you reboot the system before using the CardMan 2020/6020.

CardMan Diagnostic Tool:
------------------------
The CardMan Diagnostic Tool is installed automatically on your system by
the setup program.Use the 'Add/Remove Programs' utility in the Control Panel
to uninstall the PC/SC IFD Handler for CardMan 2020/6020

II. Uninstalling
****************
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0:
------------------------
You can uninstall the PC/SC driver for CardMan 2020/6020 by using the
'Add/Remove Programs' utility displayed in the Control Panel.
After uninstalling the IFD handler, it is necessary to reboot
the machine.Then the changes will take effect.

If the Microsoft Resource Manager cannot find any PC/SC Smart Card Reader
during boot, the service control manager will display the message box
'At least one service failed to start..'.
You can avoid this error message by manually changing the following value
in the Registry:

III. General hints:

Not supported hubs:
---------------
OHCI controller are not supported
Only the primary USB root hub ist supported.

Hot plug :
----------
A CardMan 2020/602 may be disconnected and reconnected while NT4 is running.
If CardMan 2020/6020 is connected, it will be handled as no smart card is inserted.
Note : Do not disconnect USB hubs while NT4 is running because it may cause
problems for the shutdown of the PC.
