Double-click on the hp all-in-one installer icon on the desktop to begin installation.
SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD HAS DECODING FAILURE USING SAFARI (Mac OS X Only)
When downloading hp all-in-one software using Safari (version 1.2), the downloading completes but displays a decoding error in the Download Manager.
SOLUTION:
Open Safari.
Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
Click the General icon in the toolbar.
Uncheck Open "safe" files after downloading.
Re-download driver.
It is advisable to re-open the Preferences and recheck Open "safe" files after downloading after re-downloading driver.

Instructions for Installation
Download the web package to your desktop.
If you have already installed the software for this device and you are either upgrading or re-installing you will need to disconnect the USB cable from your all-in-one, turn the device off, and then uninstall the software. The previous installation can be removed by running the Uninstall Software program via the START\Programs\Hewlett-Packard menu or via Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel. After uninstalling the previous software double click the web package and follow the on screen instructions. Do not plug in the USB cable until you reach the Setup Your Device Now screen. After you plug in the USB cable press the ON button on the front panel to turn your all-in-one on.

Download the file, Hpqimageviewer.exe to a local drive. Make note where (in which folder) the file gets copied.
Restart the computer. (The InstallShield software used for the patch will not start if the hpoevm08.exe process is hung. This step is not necessary if you are certain that the hp image viewer has not been opened since the last time the computer was restarted or turned on.
Temporarily disable any antivirus software.
Exit any running applications, games, utilities, and multimedia applications.
In Windows Explorer (or by some equivalent means) go to the folder where Hpqimageviewer.exe was copied; run the program.

These all-in-one product firmware updates will resolve issues with receiving faxes, warming-up, certain printing issues and memory full messages with the HP OfficeJet 6100 series products. For more information see details below:
Receiving Faxes - The all-in-one may not detect incoming faxes accurately. Also, the hp all-in-one may falsely detect a voice conversation as an incoming fax.

Warming-up - Under certain circumstances when the all-in-one will display "warming up" indefinitely after pressing one of the "Copy" or "Scan" buttons.
Printing Issues - After installing print cartridges, some all-in-one's may reject one or both print cartridges or require up to five minutes to complete printing of an alignment page.

"Memory Full" - When loading more than one document in the automatic document feeder (ADF) to make copies, the all-in-one may display "Memory Full; Press Enter."

ADF Scan Hang - In rare instances the automatic document feeder (ADF) may lock itself when trying to scan. This can be resolved easily by power cycling the unit. However this patch will ensure the ADF does not get into this state.

Reserve Mode Printing - Previous versions of firmware may have disabled the Reserve Mode Printing capability of the HP all-in-one. This patch will re-enable the Reserve Mode Printing capability of the HP all-in-one.

After downloading and installing this firmware update, the software will determine if the hp all-in-one would benefit from this firmware update and inform you of the results.

This uninstaller utility will remove the HP all-in-one software from your computer even if the normal software uninstaller will not. Use this utility if you cannot uninstall the all-in-one software or cannot get it reinstalled successfully.
