Step 1: Do you need to upgrade?

This is a firmware upgrade for all officejet 9100 printers currently installed with firmware versions SMR 1017A and SMR 2023A and 3008D. This package is compatible with Macintosh OS 10 and above. This version is released with the following fixes, features and enhancements:

New PCL Form Length in control panel
New Orientation in control panel
Support 12/24 time formats
Fax Trace Report to Print Report menu
Changed the COPY default setting from Color to Black
Improved copy color intensity
The character display length for Email and Fax entry #20 has been increased from 37 to 50.

To check the version of your firmware, print a Diagnostic page using these steps.

1. Switch on the Officejet 9100 series all-in-one.
2. Type the authentication PIN, if any.
3. Press the Menu button on the control panel.
4. Press the Up or Down Arrow keys to go to the MAINTENANCE menu.
5. Press the Up or Down Arrow keys to reach the Print Diagnostic page option.
6. Press the Select button to print the Print Diagnostic page.
