Introduction
• The bluetooth software is a set of software drivers and utilities that seamlessly integrate Bluetooth
technology into your desktop or laptop computer.
• BlueGate™ is the first available server-independent Bluetooth wireless access point in
the world to support extended receiver range capabilities. Acting as a gateway for
shared Internet access, BlueGate creates local “hot spots” of high-speed wireless
connectivity that link as many as seven Bluetooth-enabled devices simultaneously and
connects them to a standard Ethernet network.
This document describes the procedure for using the bluetooth softwareto surf the Web through a BlueGate
2500 Network Access Point. This document was tested using the following configuration:
• A desktop or laptop computer with an available USB interface and running Microsoft
Windows 98 SE, Me, 2000, or XP. The Windows Dial-Up Networking component
must be installed.
• A BlueGate 2500 Network Access Point

2.1 BLUEGATE SETUP
Setting up the BlueGate 2500 is straightforward. Depending on your Local Area Network
(LAN) configuration, the device is usually configured properly at the factory. Just plug it in and
go.

User Guide for Bluetooth CF cards Update Utility

(1) You should only use this utility program if:
(a) You wish to use the Bluetooth CF card on a notebook with Bluetooth software for
Windows, (currently if you are only using the Bluetooth CF card on PDAs, it is
not necessary to do the update), and
(b) The Bluetooth software that came with the Bluetooth CF card was of version 1.2,
1.3 or if you get a “Local Device not found” error message in version 1.4.2.10.
(2) This utility program will only run under Windows 2000 and Windows XP. If you
are using your Bluetooth CF card under Windows 98SE or Windows Me, please run
the utility under Windows 2000 or Windows XP first. We apologize for any
inconvenience.
(3) You will need a PCMCIA adapter to insert the Bluetooth CF card inside the
PCMCIA slot of your notebook to perform the update.
Instructions
Under Windows 2000 and Windows XP
(1) Please uninstall all Bluetooth software programs before using this Utility program.
(2) We would recommend to remove the driver file for Bluetooth CF card from
C:\Windows\Inf
(2a) Since C:\Windows\Inf is a hidden folder, please change the folder option to
“Show hidden files and folders” before continuing.
(2b) The easiest way would be to delete all oem*.inf and oem*.PNF files (where * is a
numeric number, e.g. oem5.inf)
