AutoCAD is a CAD application designed for technical drawing. AutoCAD's
printing facilities are based on output to plotters. Using the "Canon Bubble
Jet Printer" driver, you can use your Bubble Jet as if it were a plotter. Both
the individual thickness and colour of each pen can be set separately.

Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Insert this disk into a drive and double click on the install.bat file.
(Note: If you need to unzip the files into a separate folder, then do NOT call
this folder ACAD XXXXXXXX).

2. Follow the instructions given (i.e. when asked enter the path to the AutoCAD application).

3. After doing the above, change to your AutoCAD directory and start AutoCAD.

4. Type Config at the command line.

5. Select 5. Configure a plotter.

6. Select 1. Add a plotter configuration.

7. Select "Canon Bubble Jet Printers - by Canon Europa".

8. Select the Canon BJC-5500 model.

9. Follow the prompts on screen to configure the Canon BJC-5500 printer driver.

10. After configuring, select a descriptive name.

11. Select Exit to exit the plotter configuration (remember to keep the
changes!). Now the selected Canon BJC-5500 can be chosen as the output device for
all your plots.

NOTE
~~~~
Depending on how you configure the printer driver for the Canon BJC-5500
you can either select a print mode using the printer's front panel, or
have the driver set the print mode for you. If you let the driver set the
print mode for you, this will override any selection you have made using
the printer's front panel.

Installing the Printer Driver Canon BJC-5500
=====================================
To use this printer driver Canon BJC-5500 with software application packages that
operate with Microsoft Windows NT, it is important that you follow the
installation procedure as shown below.

Note: It is necessary to log on with full control access privileges for
printer settings to install the printer driver Canon BJC-5500 successfully.

1. Start Windows NT on your system and log on as a member of the
administrators group or power user group.
2. Click on the [Start] button.
3. Point to [Settings].
4. Click on [Printers] to display the Printers folder.

Note: The icons of the existing printer drivers that are installed in
your system appear in the Printers folder. If an older version of the
printer driver you wish to install appears in the Printers folder,
delete the printer driver. Select the icon of the older version of the
printer driver and click on [Delete] in the [File] menu. Click on the
[Yes] button when the message appears to delete the printer driver.
After deleting the older version of the printer driver, restart Windows
NT.

5. Double-click on the [Add Printer] icon to start the "Add Printer
Wizard".
6. Follow the instructions of the Add Printer Wizard to proceed.
7. Click on the check box next to [LPT1:] or the port you want to use,
when the list of available ports appears. Click on the [Next]
button to proceed.
8. Click on the [Have Disk...] button when the list of manufacturers
and models of the printers appears.
9. Type "c:\canonbj\nt4" and then click on the [OK] button.
10. Select the desired printer you want to install, and click on the [Next]
button.
Depending on your system, if you are upgrading from a previous version
of this printer driver, you must choose [Replace existing driver] after
you select your printer even though Windows NT recommends that you keep
the existing driver. Otherwise the driver will not be upgraded
successfully.
11. Follow the instructions of the Add Printer Wizard until the
installation is finished.
An icon for your printer will then appear in the Printers folder.
