Description: Create a new folder on the hard drive, such as c:\dj6127, before downloading the printer driver.
Download the driver to the newly created c:\dj6127 folder.
Before Installing
For Network Installation:Before installing the printer software on a networked computer, verify the following:
The printer is set up and powered on.
The ethernet hub or router is powered on and functioning properly.
All computers on the network are powered on and connected to the network.
The printer is connected to the ethernet network.
You have printed out a DJ6127 network configuration page.
(To print out a network configuration page, press the Cancel (X) button on the front of the printer for 1 second and the release it)
Your PC (where you want to install the printer software) can communicate with the deskjet 6127.
To verify communication:
Open a DOS box
Enter at the DOS prompt: "Ping (printer IP address)"
(printer IP address is #7 on the network configuration page)
NOTE:If the printer was previously installed on a computer with a USB cable, disconnect the USB cable from the printer during network printer software installation. Use the downloaded printer software and follow the instructions below to install the ethernet version of the printer driver.
For USB Installation:DO NOT connect the USB cable between the printer and PC until prompted to do so in the steps that follow (below).
Installation Instructions
Follow these steps to install the downloaded printer software:
Double-click on the downloaded printer software file to extract the driver files.
NOTE:The extraction process will create a series of folders under the c:\dj6127 folder that you downloaded the driver file into. Under the "C:\dj6127\6127" folder, a three letter language folder will be displayed which corresponds with the driver language that you downloaded. For example, the English driver (6127_enu_win2k_xpinfu.exe) contains a language folder named "enu". Within this folder you will find a "drivers" folder, and within the drivers folder, a "win2k_xp" folder.
