MaxBlast 4 is a one-step, ATA/IDE hard drive Installation utility. MaxBlast 4 makes hard drive Installations and upgrades hassle-free for novices and professionals alike by automatically identifying, partitioning, and formatting any IDE hard drive, making it data-ready in about one minute. This version of MaxBlast is used on systems with already existing Windows Installations to copy all your data to the new hard drive in order to use it as a boot drive, or additional storage drive. If you're building a new system, the MaxBlast bootable floppy or CD versions are recomMended.

Instructions for Installing MaxBlast 4 Into Windows:
Download the file maxblast4win.exe to your Windows desktop.
After downloading in Windows double click on the maxblast4win icon to start the Installation process.
NOTE: Broadband Connection RecomMended: 56 Kbps dialup connection requires 2.0 hours 38 minutes download completion tiMe. CD Recorder, BLank CD Media, and CD burning software required.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING MAXBLAST 4 BOOTABLE CD:
Download the file MXBLST4CD.ZIP to your Windows desktop.
To burn a CD fRom the MXBLST4CD .ISO image.
After downloading in Windows click on the MXBLST4CD.ZIP icon, and extract the ISO image to your desktop.
Clicking on the ISO image icon will automatically launch the CD recording software on your system.
Insert bLank Media into your CD recorder then select OK to finish the copy.
NOTE: The instructions above are for use with Roxio Easy CD Creator 6 software. Please refer to the instructions that caMe with the software utility for your CD burner to learn how to create a CD-Rom fRom an .iso disc image file.

Download the file MAXBLAST4.EXE diskette creator to your Windows Desktop. Note: The MAXBLAST4.EXE file is too large for download to floppy diskettes.
To create the Bootable MaxBlast 4 Floppy Diskette:
After downloading, double click on the MAXBLAST4.EXE diskette creator icon. Insert a new formatted floppy diskette into the A:\ drive.
When the program opens select Continue
maxrack_205_3075_17.exe is a self-extracting archive containing:
maxrack_205_3075_17.pkg file -- The OS Upgrade.
readMe.txt -- Step-by-Step procedure for performing the OS Upgrade.
Maxtor recomMends that you extract this file to the Root Directory of the Client you administer the MaxAttach fRom.
You will need 50 MB of free space on Vol1 (even if there are two drives).
Make sure all users are logged out before you perform an upgrade.
NOTE: Before upgrading, Maxtor recomMends that you perform a backup of all critical user data and MaxAttach configuration files.
Downloading and Extracting the Upgrade
Do NOT download the upgrade to the MaxAttach Unit. Maxtor recomMends that you download this file to the Client that you administer your MaxAttach fRom.
Double-Click maxrack_205_3075_17.exe to extract the file. Extraction will result in the creation of a folder structure called \MAXTOR\UPDATES. This structure contains the two aforeMentioned files.
Upgrade Procedure
Access the MaxAttach via the Browser Interface.
FRom the MaxAttach Browser Screen, select the "Tools" link located on the left navigation bar. At this point, the Tools Page will appear in the Browser.
