Installation Instructions
HP recommends you uninstall any previous version of your HP All-in-One software before proceeding.
Uninstall Previous Software
To uninstall your current HP All-in-One software, double-click the HP Uninstaller application located in your Hewlett-Packard folder, which is in your Applications folder. Do not remove Memories Disc or Readiris when you are selecting the components to uninstall.
Installation
Double-click on the hp all-in-one installer icon to install the HP All-in-One software.
Be sure to complete all screens in the HP All-in-One Setup Assistant.
For Mac OS X 10.1.x Users only
Your print or fax queue is configured automatically after setup. If you would like to configure a queue manually in the future follow the steps as mentioned for Mac OS X 10.2
For Mac OS X 10.2 and 10.3 Users only
Launch Print Center (or Printer Setup Utility) from the Utilities folder in the Applications folder.
ClickAdd Printer.
Select a connection method from the pop-up menu. Your device will be listed under one of the following: HP AiO Print, USB, Rendezvous, HP IP Printing. To print to fax, select HP AiO Fax from the pop-up.
Select your device in the browser list and click Add. Your device is added to the Print Center's printer list, with the suffix "(Print)" or "(Fax)".
Quit Print Center.
To change printers in the future, you may either do so directly in an application's print dialog box or change the default for all future print jobs using Print Center.
Adding New Users (Mac OS X)
After creating a new user account in Mac OS X, the new user must run before using the HP All-in-One device. The HP All-in-One Setup Assistantis located on your hard drive at /Applications/Hewlett-Packard/HP Photo and Imaging Software/HP AiO Software/HP All-in-One Setup Assistant
Classic Installation Notes (Mac OS X)
The installer installs the Classic drivers and Chooser extensions in the Classic environment if the installer is run in OS X. To access the Classic feature of the HP All-in-One software, you need not have to install another copy of the software on Mac OS 9.
Note: Mac OS X: Driver Download Has Decoding Failure Using Safari
When downloading an HP All-in-One Driver using Safari (version 1.2), the downloading completes but displays a decoding error in the download manager.
SOLUTION:
Open Safari.
Select Preferences from the Safari menu.
Click the General icon in the toolbar.
Uncheck Open "safe" files after downloading.
Re-download driver.
It is advisable to re-open the Preferences and recheck Open "safe" files after downloading after re-downloading driver.

Installation Instructions:
Download the file, USBUpdate_Windows2000.exe to a local drive. Make note where (in which folder) the file gets copied.
Temporarily disable any antivirus software.
Exit any running applications, games, utilities, and multimedia applications.
In Windows Explorer (or by some equivalent means) go to the folder where USBUpdate_Windows2000.exe was copied; run the program.
Double-click on the USBUpdate_Windows2000.exe patch file to start it.
Follow the instruction dialogs that appear to install the update.
A restart is necessary after the patch is installed.

Microsoft Windows 2000
Description: NOTE:
Installation Instructions:
Turn off the hp psc 900 series All-in-One device and disconnect the USB cable (Parallel port not supported by this device).
Uninstall the previously version of the software (Click Start, click All Programs, point to HP PSC 900 Series, and then click Uninstall Software)
Temporarily disable antivirus software.
Exit any running applications, games, utilities, and multimedia applications.
Run the downloaded .exe file, then follow the screen directions presented during software installation.
When the software portion of the installation is complete, you will see a "Software Copied Successfully" dialog box with a prompt to "follow the instructions on your setup poster to set up your hp psc 900 series hardware".
Select [Finish] on the "Software Copied Successfully" dialog.
If a request to restart your computer dialog appears, select [yes] to reboot the computer.
Turn on your HP psc 900 series device, and connect the USB cable between it and the computer.
After the Add New Hardware dialogs, an "Install HP software" dialog will appear.
Select [Next]. NOTE: The ReadIris application and HP instant support are not included with the Web download. Wait for the HP software to start and the HP Fax Setup Wizard to appear.
Complete the HP Fax Setup Wizard, if it appears.
Complete the Electronic Registration, if you have not already done it once.
When "Congratulations!" appears, select [Skip Tour], since it is not included in the web driver package.
Upon completing the software installation, enable your antivirus software.
View the Readme file or the Onscreen User Guide for further information related to the operation of this driver software. If you chose the default installation location then the readme.html file will be located in the path:

C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\AiO\hp psc 900 series\Help

Microsoft Windows 2000
Description: Description:
Under certain network configurations, HP PSC software may generate large numbers of OpenPrinter calls to the network print server. These OpenPrinter calls, due to their large number, may eventually crash the NT print server or shut down the print spool process.
Symptom:
Network analysis determines a large number of open OpenPrinter calls going to the print server. At least one HP PSC printer is connected either to the network or locally on a client PC.
What this driver update accomplishes:
Solves the problems by updating the PSC 900 Series print code and almost eliminating the number of OpenPrinter calls made over the network.
Please note: This driver will update only print functionality; all other functions remain intact and work with this update.
Installation instructions:
Create a new folder on the hard drive: c:\PSC950up before downloading the printer driver.
Download the driver to the newly created c:\PSC950up folder.
Open the c:\PSC950up folder and double-click the downloaded "exe" file.
Let the files extract to the current folder, click "Unzip".
From Windows, click "Start", "Settings", "Printers".
Right click on the "hp psc 900 series", "Proprieties".
Click on the "Advanced" tab on the top right of the Properties box
Next, click "New driver..."
When the Add Printer Wizard screen appears, click "Next".
To continue, click the "Have Disk" button.
Next, click "Browse" and go to the folder "c:\PSC950up". An "hpop2k07.inf" file will be displayed. Select the file name and click "Open".
Click "OK" to continue. "hp psc 900 series" will now be found in the Printers column. Now, click the "Next" button.
If another printer driver is installed on the PC, select "Yes" or "No" to use this printer as the default printer and click "Next".
Choose "Do not share this printer" and click "Next".
Select "Yes" or "No" to print a test page and click "Next".
To complete the installation process, click "Finish". The hp psc 900 series printer drivers will be updated and ready to use.

System requirements: This utility will only support USB connected printers.
Description: The HP Printing Diagnostic Utility is created to diagnose and fix many common issues preventing printing from the computer.
Enhancements: The HP Printing Diagnostic Utility is created to diagnose and fix many common issues preventing printing from the computer. It works for many HP printing devices. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the utility. Examples of issues this utility will address:

• Connection Issue: The utility will check that the selected printer is connected and powered.

• Spooler Service Issue: The utility will check that the print spooler service is running and restart the service, if necessary.

• Purge Spooler Issue: The utility will check if the print queue is empty and will clear it, if necessary.

• Printer Status Issue: The utility will check if the print status is offline or paused and will change the status to online or resume, if necessary.

• Device Manager Issue: The utility will check for cautioned entries in the device manager. In order to fix the issue, the utility will force a plu and play re-scan of the device manager.

• Printer Port Issue: The utility will check whether the selected printer is configured to use a DOT4 port or the USB00X Port and assign the correct printer port, if necessary.

• Driver Handler Issue: The utility will check whether the correct printer driver is installed for the selected printer and assign the correct printer driver, if necessary. If the issue continues, turn your printer on and off, disconnect and reconnect the printer cable from the computer and the printer, and restart the computer. After the computer has restarted, please cancel any pending print jobs, if prompted.

Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows ME
Description: Scanning to e-mail with America on-line 7.0.
The following patch allows documents or images to be scanned into an AOL email file using the HP PSC Scanning Directory and OfficeJet Scan-To-Email functions. The image can then be sent to anyone that has an e-mail account.
Which files are upgraded by this patch:
hpoaol07.exe
For Microsoft Internet Explorer users:

Click on "Download"
Choose the option "Save this program to disk."
Click OK.
You will now be prompted for the location on your hard drive where you would like to save the program. Save the program to your hard drive, making sure to note the drive and directory where the patch gets copied.
After downloading, locate the patch file on your hard drive, "HpPSC900AOL7.exe", and run it.
Follow the install instructions that appear on the screen.
If the install instructions conclude with advice to reboot the PC, please do so. Absent such instructions, the patch is ready to work immediately.
For Netscape users:

Click on "Download"

Description: Important: If the PSC 900 Series software is NOT already installed or has been Uninstalled, install the software from the included CD-ROM by following the Setup Poster for your PSC 900 Series. Once installation has completed, restart your system and carefully follow the Patch Installation instructions detailed below.
If the PSC 900 Series software is already installed, you should use the following instructions to install the patch:
Disable any active anti-virus software including, canceling any active dialog boxes associated with Norton Antivirus. The PSC 900 Series will not install properly with Norton Antivirus active. If installation is attempted (reconnecting the device in step 1 below) with Norton Antivirus running, then the user will need to uninstall the PSC 900 Series driver and reinstall.
Turn Off and Disconnect the HP PSC 900 Series.
Open the Windows Task Manager. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] to activate the Task Manager.
If active, select "hpocon07" from the list of running tasks and choose End Task. Another dialog box will appear to inform you that the task is Not Responding. Choose End Task.
Open the Windows Task Manager again. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] to activate the Task Manager.
Select "hpobrt07" from the list of running tasks and choose End Task. Another dialog box will appear to inform you that the task is Not Responding. Choose End Task.
Open the Windows Task Manager one last time. Press [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] to activate the Task Manager.
Verify there are no other tasks running which begin with "hpoÂ…" in the task manager. If there are, end those tasks as well.
Run the patch by double-clicking the file: HpPSC900_StartupDelayFix.exe. This should be done by selecting the patch from the START -> RUN -> Browse method
Complete the dialogs for the patch and choose Finish at the completion of the installation.
SHUT DOWN your system, wait 10 seconds and turn on your system again.
Note: It is important that you Shut Down your system, not just Restart it.
Reconnect the USB cable between the PSC 900 Series and your system and Turn On the PSC 900 Series. After about a minute wait, the HP Fax Setup Wizard window should appear.
Complete the Fax Setup Wizard dialogs.
Verify there is a printer icon in your System Tray (located in the far right corner of the taskbar). By hovering over it, you can determine the status of your PSC 900 Series.

System requirements:
HP Memories Disc Creator version 1.0 or 2.0
Description: This update is for HP Memories Disc Creator versions 1.0 and 2.0. This update replaces SoftPaq SP24016 and two additional issues:

1. On some PCs, if HP Memories Disc Creator is used to write a CD or DVD, subsequent discs written with a different CD/DVD writing program may be unreadable.
2. A compatibility issue between Apple's iTunes and Nullsoft's Winamp, resulting in Windows send/don't send error messages.
This update also includes the that were previously released in Softpaq SP24016.
Compatibility issue between HP Memories Disc Creator version 1.0 and 2.0.
There is a compatibility issue between HP Memories Disc Creator versions 1.0 and 2.0. The issue occurs when you install the older version on top of the newer version, and then try to use HP Memories Disc Creator.
