1. About Power Monitor
Power Monitor is a utility, which is used to monitoring power status (UPS signal). When UPS signals (Power Fail and Low
battery) are detected, this utility will shutdown Windows system safely.
This version of software is for ALTUSEN Power over the NET product.
2. Using Power Monitor
a). Install Power Monitor by executing self-extract setup program (PMonitorSetup -ALTUSEN-V1.1.101 .exe). Install
program will set Power Monitor to Windows startup folder to let system launch it automatically when system starts.
b). Power Monitor could be launched by system automatically, or by double-click shortcut icon on desktop manually too.
c). The polarity of UPS signals (both Power Fail and Low Battery) that is monitored are Positive only.
d). Default COM port for Power Monitor is COM1.
e). After Power Monitor was launched, it starts monitoring power status (via COM1) automatically. If COM1 port was
occupied by other utility, it could not start monitoring, and the dialog below will be displayed.
f). If you are using other COM port, please choose it from Option dialog.
g). If monitoring is started, monitoring icon will be displayed at task bar (right-bottom), if monitoring is stopped, nonmonitoring
icon will be displayed at task bar.
h). If the utility has already launched, and user try to execute utility again, the error dialog below will be displayed.

i). When monitoring was stopped, user can set option by double-click left button on non-monitoring icon at task bar, or
click right button on non-monitoring icon at task bar, then select “Option…” from menu. The dialog below will be
displayed. What user can set in option dialog is COM port only.
j). User can click right button on power monitor icon at task bar to choose starting or stopping monitoring.
k). When Power Monitor detected UPS signal (Power Fail and Low battery), a dialog box below will be displayed and the
utility will start system shutdown process in 5 seconds

m). User can uninstall the utility by choose uninstall from Windows start menu (Start \ Program \ ATEN Power Monitor Uninstall Power Monitor) or form “Control Panel \ Add/Remove Program” in Windows, utility name is “ATEN Power
Monitor”.
