Explanation of Driver package version numbers:
SpecialPack3 -SpecialPack7 :based on SFF8090 specification Revision 0.90
SpecialPack10-SpecialPackxx:based on SFF8090 specification Revision 0.96 or later
SpecialPack number will be incremented with each SFF8090 Revision.

Explanation of SpecialPack nomenclature:
SP= SpecialPack
SPxxE;for IBM-AT PC system in English version. Message will be indicated in
English.
SPxxJ;for DOS/V(Japanese IBM-AT) PC system in Japanese version. Message will
be indicated in Japanese.
SPxxN;for NEC PC-9800 series. Does not work on IBM-AT PC system.

!!! CAUTION !!!
If you are using only CD-ROM, you should use standard Driver in Windows95.
If you are using DVD-ROM, you should install MKE Device Drivers.
If you are using DVD-ROM and PD, you should install MKE Device Drivers.

Note for using this Setup Utility

For Windows 98/98SE/ME/2000/XP:
--------------------------------

Install the driver with "setup" or "setup -s" command:
1. setup: The Install shield will prompt you the steps to install
the driver.

2. setup -s: The Install shield will complete the installation
without prompting you any instruction.

For Windows 95/OSR2:
--------------------

1. If the Operating System's New Hardware Wizard prompts you that
"New Hardware Found" for the PCI Ethernet Controller, you should
click "Next" until "Finish" is clicked without specifying location
of the driver. You will see the "PCI Ethernet Controller" in the
Device Manager.

2. Then you can install the driver with "setup" or "setup -s" command:
a) setup: The Install shield will prompt you the steps to install
the driver.

b) setup -s: The Install shield will complete the installation
without prompting you any instruction.

You need to reboot the system immediately after the Install shield
completes the installation.

3. Do not click "Cancel" during New Hardware Wizard searches for the
driver.

4. After remove the driver, please restart the system immediately.

Do not use this utility in Windows NT 3.5x or 4.0.

Driver & Application Installation/Removal Procedure For Avance AC'97 Codec:

Setup Driver/Application at first time:
---------------------------------------

Step 1. Before installing the Avance AC'97 Drivers & Applications, Press the
[Cancel] button if Windows detect the PCI Multimedia Audio device.

Step 2. Insert the "Avance AC'97 Drivers & Applications" CD into the CD-ROM
drive and run the setup.exe program to finish the installation.

Step 3. Click on [Next/OK/Go] to continue the procedure. If the Windows popup
"Digital Signature Not Found" message, press [Yes] to continue the
installation.

Step 4. Finally, select to restart the system and press [Finish] to complete
the installation.

The system will reload the drivers and do some adjustments in the INF
file if so required.

Update Driver/Application:
--------------------------

Step 1. Follow Step 2,3,4 described in [Setup at first time] above to complete
the procedure.

--------------------------
Remove Driver/Application:
--------------------------

Step 1. Go to Start\Settings\Control Panel.

Step 2. Select [Add/Remove Programs] icon.

Step 3. Select "Avance AC'97 Drivers and Applications" and press [Change/Remove]
button.

Step 4. Click on [Next/OK/Go] to finish the uninstallation.

Step 5. At the end of the procedure, select to restart the system and press
[Finish] to complete the uninstallation.
