Installing a Canon BJC-800 Driver
---------------------------------
1. In the Main group, choose the Control Panel
icon.

2. In Control Panel, choose the Printers icon.

The Printers dialog box appears. If you have
never installed a printer, the dialog box
expands to display a list of printers available
in the Windows version 3.1 package, and the Add
button is unavailable. Go to step 8.

3. Choose the Add button.

The dialog box expands to display the List Of
Printers.

4. In the List Of Printers box, select Install
Unlisted or Updated Printer.

5. Choose the Install button.

A dialog box appears, instructing you to insert
the disk that has the printer-driver file on it.

6. Insert the disk you made during the downloading
procedure, or type the path of the directory
where you downloaded the driver. Then choose the
OK button.

Another dialog box appears, listing several
printers.

7. In the List Of Printers box, select the printer
you want.

8. Choose the OK button.

The Printers dialog box appears. Your printer is
listed in the Installed Printers list.

9. Choose the Close button.

printer, see Chapter 5, "Control Panel," in the
"Microsoft Windows User's Guide."
Updating the Universal Printer Driver (UNIDRV.DLL)
--------------------------------------------------
The Windows Driver Library includes the most current
version of the Universal Printer Driver. To update
UNIDRV.DLL:

1 Change to the disk or directory to which you
downloaded.

2 At the MS-DOS prompt, type:

copy unidrv.dll

where is the drive and directory containing
your existing unidrv.dll file.

This overwrites your existing UNIDRV.DLL file.
Updating the Postscript Driver (PSCRIPT.DRV)
------------------------------------------------------
The Windows Driver Library includes the most current
version of the Microsoft Postscript Driver. To update
PSCRIPT.DRV:

1 Change to the disk or directory to which you
downloaded.

2 At the MS-DOS prompt, type:

copy pscript.drv

where is the drive and directory containing
your existing pscript.drv file.

This overwrites your existing PSCRIPT.DRV file.

Installing the Printer Driver Canon BJC-800
=====================================
To use this printer driver Canon BJC-800 with software application packages that
operate with Microsoft Windows NT, it is important that you follow the
installation procedure as shown below.

Note: It is necessary to log on with full control access privileges for
printer settings to install the printer driver Canon BJC-800 successfully.

1. Start Windows NT on your system and log on as a member of the
administrators group or power user group.
2. Click on the [Start] button.
3. Point to [Settings].
4. Click on [Printers] to display the Printers folder.

Note: The icons of the existing printer drivers that are installed in
your system appear in the Printers folder. If an older version of the
printer driver you wish to install appears in the Printers folder,
delete the printer driver. Select the icon of the older version of the
printer driver and click on [Delete] in the [File] menu. Click on the
[Yes] button when the message appears to delete the printer driver.
After deleting the older version of the printer driver, restart Windows
NT.

5. Double-click on the [Add Printer] icon to start the "Add Printer
Wizard".
6. Follow the instructions of the Add Printer Wizard to proceed.
7. Click on the check box next to [LPT1:] or the port you want to use,
when the list of available ports appears. Click on the [Next]
button to proceed.
8. Click on the [Have Disk...] button when the list of manufacturers
and models of the printers appears.
9. Type "c:\canonbj\nt4" and then click on the [OK] button.
10. Select the desired printer you want to install, and click on the [Next]
button.
Depending on your system, if you are upgrading from a previous version
of this printer driver, you must choose [Replace existing driver] after
you select your printer even though Windows NT recommends that you keep
the existing driver. Otherwise the driver will not be upgraded
successfully.
11. Follow the instructions of the Add Printer Wizard until the
installation is finished.
An icon for your printer will then appear in the Printers folder.
